Since 2008 Time in Jazz has dedicated efforts to Green Jazz, an important project in increasing public awareness of ecological issues that aims to reduce the festival’s impact on the local environment and natural resources through events and projects that focus on some of the latest environmental issues.
Time in Jazz’s close relationship with nature—which is seen particularly in events such as the concerts in the Limbara woods and rural churches, and in the field of the visual arts through Semida, an art and nature museum created on Mt. Limbara in collaboration with the institution Foreste della Sardegna—has also strengthened its commitment to environmental sustainability.
This was done through the inauguration of a thematic cycle dedicated to the four elements of nature—earth, air, fire and water—and the creation of a series of concrete initiatives connected to the topics of energy conservation, alternative forms of energy, waste recycling, CO2 reductions, etc.
Green Jazz enjoys the collaboration of partners and sponsors which include local institutions and private companies, and the fundamental support of the local community and those attending the festival, who are actively involved in an awareness-building initiative that aims to make Time in Jazz a festival which is ever more in harmony with the environment.
